Leaping into flea control

Leaping into flea control

In warm, humid climates like Florida’s, the outdoors teems with insects, including fleas.

These tough little pests like nothing better than to leap onto passing pets and start a family. In just a few weeks, a single pair of fleas can generate a massive household infestation that will irritate your pets, possibly spread diseases and parasites, and even bite people.

Fortunately, an irksome infestation can easily be prevented. Oral medications and topical treatments are safe and highly effective at eliminating all life stages of the flea, from eggs to adults. These treatments can also keep fleas off pets for up to a month.

Insecticidal sprays can help remove fleas from the house and keep outdoor numbers under control. So don’t risk going to bed with the dogs but waking up with fleas. Talk to your veterinarian about a flea control program soon.
