Live Edition: Animal Airwaves—Live is an hour-long call-in show that airs between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays on WUFT-FM in Gainesville. The show features faculty members from the UF Veterinary Hospitals who address a variety of topics relating to pet health care, including companion animals, exotic pets and horses.

The gift of blood in a medical emergency saves animal as well as human lives. Learn more about the blood types of dogs and cats, what types of blood disorders are commonly seen in veterinary medicine and how professionals deal with these situations from Dr. Andrew Specht, an internal medicine specialist with an interest in transfusion medicine. Dr. Specht will also discuss the blood donor program at the UF Veterinary Hospitals and how it benefits animal patients, as well as the animals that participate.
