Making a connection

We often think of veterinarians only in the context of our pets, horses or farm animals, but they actually wear many other hats. Thanks to a traveling exhibit on animals and their care, you might get a chance to try some on yourself.

The show, called Animal Connections, highlights the roles animals play in our lives and the work veterinarians do to help both beasts and their human brethren. While some veterinarians focus on pets or livestock, others care for creatures in zoos, nature, laboratories and the armed forces. Veterinarians even play crucial roles in food production. Animal Connections even has a virtual veterinary clinic that allows you to step into a veterinarian’s shoes.

Animal Connections has traveled to a number of cities but is slated to visit many more in 2014. For more information, visit Don’t miss your chance to connect.
