How to collar data

We use smart devices every day, but it looks like they’ve gone to the dogs (and cats). That’s actually a good thing.

Today’s wireless technology allows very small tracking gadgets to fit into pet-friendly accessories. These tiny devices can transmit data to a smartphone app so that pet parents can monitor their furry kids remotely.

For example, motion sensors can track a pet’s activity level. Other devices can monitor a pet’s heart and respiratory rates. For cats that like the thrill of the chase, a pet parent can control a laser target remotely so their kitty can still have fun while home alone. Some wireless cameras also have speakers so that people not only see but can speak to their pets remotely.

It looks like tracking your 4-legged friend’s condition from afar is a very smart way to use technology.
