Insuring: get what you bargained for

Thanks to ongoing research and technology, advanced veterinary care has saved many pets’ lives. But improved treatment can mean increased costs for pet parents. Expenses can be offset by pet insurance, but only if you do some research of your own first.

Your veterinarian may be able to recommend an insurance plan that will cover your type of pet — meaning, the species and breed — and allow you to choose your own veterinarian. Next, look for covered expenses. Do they include wellness visits and emergencies? What about intensive care?

Insurance has saved the day for plenty of pets. Just make you’re getting what you bargained for.
