Lean on me

Whether you’re a teen or an adult who remembers being there, you can relate to the turmoil of those years. Teens have so many feelings they can’t — or won’t — put into words. But one set of ears always listens without judgment.

Pets enhance our well-being, no matter what the stage of life. That’s particularly true for teens grappling with psychological problems. But for any teen, testing independence can be scary. Teens with pets often have an easier time coping.

Pets demand interaction, drawing teens out and attracting other folks to the social circle. Bonding to a pet also fosters empathy. And because our pets think we’re the greatest, they’re natural confidence boosters.

Whether a teen plays with their pet, gives it hugs or they just hang out together, these all are very cool ways to give love and get it back in spades.
