April Frawley Birdwell is the editor of The Post and a medical writer in the HSC Office of News & Communications. Before joining the HSC News & Communications staff, she was a reporter and assistant editor for the Charlotte Sun, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in breaking news in 2005. As a reporter, she covered education and features and won seven national and three state awards for her writing. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida.
