Shawn Batlivala, M.D., co-chief resident of pediatrics, fits a new bicycle helmet on Carly Gilliam, 6, as her brother, Maddox, 4, waits for his turn to receive a helmet. The helmets were given to patients June 19 at the Gerold L. Schiebler Children’s Medical Services Center during a bicycle safety event sponsored by the department of pediatrics, the city of Gainesville and Safe Kids USA.
